LINE MINI App in Thailand 2026: what it is and who can publish
Since March 2026 anyone allowed by LINE's policy can publish a LINE MINI App for Thailand. Verified status is another matter. What changed, what each status gets and how to plan for it.
Key takeaways
- A LINE MINI App is a web app that runs inside LINE, built with the LIFF SDK. Customers use it without installing anything.
- Since 11 March 2026, anyone permitted by the LINE MINI App Policy can publish an unverified MINI App for Thailand, without a review.
- For Thailand, only MINI App channels under a certified provider can apply for the verification review that gives a verified MINI App.
- Verified MINI Apps get a badge, their name in the header, LINE search, the Home tab's "Recently used" list, home-screen shortcuts and custom paths.
A LINE MINI App lets a business offer a real service inside LINE (booking, ordering, membership, queue tickets) without asking customers to download an app. In Thailand the rules for who can publish one changed in March 2026, and that change is easy to misread: publishing is now open, verification is not.
This guide explains what a LINE MINI App is, who can publish one in Thailand, and what verified status adds. The platform facts are taken from the LINE Developers documentation and LINE’s 2026 news, checked on 29 October 2026. Rules like these change, so check them again before you plan a launch. What is a LINE MINI App?
LINE describes it as a web application that runs on LINE. Technically it is a web app, written with HTML5 and your choice of framework, that uses the LIFF SDK to read the customer’s LINE profile (with permission), send messages and use LINE features. Customers open it from a link, a QR code, a chat message or a rich menu, and it runs full screen inside LINE.
That makes it a fit for services customers use again and again: booking and rebooking, ordering, a member card with points, a queue ticket. For one small task, such as a single form, a LIFF app can be enough; our LIFF guide explains the difference, and the two are converging. LINE already recommends creating new LIFF apps as MINI Apps, and its documentation says LIFF will be integrated into the LINE MINI App brand.
Who can publish a LINE MINI App in Thailand
On 11 March 2026 LINE announced that anyone can now publish LINE MINI Apps in Taiwan and Thailand. In practice: anyone who is a permitted customer under the LINE MINI App Policy can create a MINI App channel for a Thailand service and publish it as an unverified MINI App, without a review.
What did not open up is verification. For Taiwan and Thailand services, only LINE MINI App channels under a certified provider can apply for the verification review. A provider is the company or person that owns the channels in the LINE Developers Console, and certification is granted by LY Corporation. The policy itself was last revised on 14 October 2026 (it clarified the conditions for ads), so read the current LINE MINI App Policy on LINE Developers before you publish.
Verified vs unverified: what you get
Every new MINI App channel starts as unverified. Verified status needs LY Corporation’s review. According to LINE’s documentation:
| Unverified MINI App | Verified MINI App | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can publish (Thailand) | Anyone permitted by the policy | Channels under a certified provider, after review |
| Header | Title and the web domain | Title, MINI App name and a verified badge |
| Found in LINE search | No | Yes |
| Home tab “Recently used” | No | Yes |
| Home-screen shortcut, custom path | No | Yes |
| Channel consent simplification | No | Yes |
The practical difference is discovery and trust. An unverified MINI App works well when you bring customers to it yourself: from your LINE Official Account’s rich menu, a QR code at the counter or a link in a message. A verified one can also be found by people who search in LINE, and its header shows your name instead of a web address.
How to plan a MINI App in Thailand
- Start with the customer journey, not the format. If customers book once a year, a LIFF form on your Official Account may be enough.
- Publish unverified first if speed matters. You can launch, measure and improve, and bring customers in through your OA and QR codes.
- Decide early whether you need verified status. If you do, ask whoever builds the app whether the channel will sit under a certified provider, because the channel’s provider is chosen when it is created.
- Connect it to your systems. A MINI App usually needs the Messaging API for confirmations and reminders (see our Messaging API guide) and a backend that verifies the customer’s LINE token on the server.

Frequently asked questions
What is a LINE MINI App?
A web application that runs inside LINE, so customers can book, order or show a member card without downloading an app. It is built with HTML5 and the LIFF SDK and opens from a link, a QR code, a chat or a rich menu.
Can any business publish a LINE MINI App in Thailand?
Since 11 March 2026, anyone who is a permitted customer under the LINE MINI App Policy can create a MINI App channel for a Thailand service and publish it as an unverified MINI App. To become verified, the channel must be under a certified provider and pass LY Corporation's review.
What is the difference between a verified and an unverified MINI App?
An unverified MINI App works, but its header shows the web domain and some features are off. A verified one shows a verified badge and its name, can be found in LINE search and the Home tab's Recently used list, and can use home-screen shortcuts, custom paths and channel consent simplification.
Is a LINE MINI App the same as a LIFF app?
They use the same SDK and code. LINE recommends creating new LIFF apps as MINI Apps and plans to bring LIFF into the LINE MINI App brand. A few features, such as half-height windows, exist only in plain LIFF.
